Property for sale in Crystal Bay, Koh Samui

Crystal Bay, also known as Silver Beach, is a small cove of turquoise water and granite boulders on the east coast, between Chaweng Noi and Lamai. It is one of the most photographed beaches on Samui: white sand, clear water and good snorkelling right in front of the rocks. It is busy during the day, then quietens down again in the late afternoon. Just to the north, Coral Cove offers another small cove for a quiet swim.

The surrounding hills, from Coral Cove to Crystal Bay, offer some of the finest sea views on the island. Facing east, they look out over the sunrise on the Gulf of Thailand. The area is mainly residential, with a few restaurants and small hotels, and private estates set into the hillsides. In the evening, you go down to Lamai or Chaweng for dinner, then head back up to the quiet of the hill.

The location is a good compromise: Lamai, with its markets, restaurants and gyms, is 5 minutes away, and Chaweng, with Central Samui shopping centre and the international hospitals, around 10 minutes. The airport is 20–25 minutes away. As on all of Samui's hillsides, some roads are steep, so we always tell you exactly how each property is reached.

The market is small and sought after: elevated plots with sea views, often within private estates, and pool villas facing the sea. The land is often sloping, which allows you to build on terraces and keep the view on every level. People come here for the view and the swimming, between two very lively beaches, and it is a lovely place to build your own villa, with good rental potential thanks to the appeal of the cove.
