Choeng Mon is a sheltered bay on the north-east coast, between Plai Laem and Chaweng. Protected by the headlands that surround it, its water is calm and shallow, making it one of the most pleasant beaches on the island for family swimming. Just off the beach, the small islet of Koh Fan Noi completes the scene. A few discreet high-end resorts share the bay, and the atmosphere remains peaceful, away from the noise of Chaweng even though it is so close. The Bangrak piers, for Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, are also close by. Everyday journeys take just a few minutes, with no need to drive through the busy centre of Chaweng.

The hills around the bay offer elevated plots with sea views, which are much sought after and on which villas are built facing the Gulf of Thailand.
